Being on safari in South Africa is a pretty sublime experience. For starters, the campgrounds exceed US standards by a long ways. All of the NPS caravan parks have communal kitchen facilities complete with boiling water on tap, pots/pans, etc. The campsites all have bbq facilities, power outlets, and the like. And on top of that they are regularly outfitted with clean and well-organized swimming pools. Most of the roads are paved, so you can even take the trip in an econo-coffin rental. If seeing the African animals in the "wild" is on your world travels bucket list, it is an easy thing to organize. Fly into Cape Town, get a rental car, buy a Parks Pass, and go!!
